Fertility help begins here
For as long as humans have had medicine, we’ve had medicine to treat infertility. As one of the oldest medical systems in the world that is still in use, Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine has honed, refined, and researched the root causes and treatments of infertility in both women and men over thousands of years.
With the backing of both ancient and modern research, here at Bridges Acupuncture we offer customized, gentle, and effective support that is focused on you to help you conceive, carry, and deliver your child into this world.
Are you pursuing IVF?
You’re in good company! Many of our fertility patients are also pursuing IVF, so we have a lot of experience supporting your body through all the physically intense hormone treatments for cycle regulation, egg retrievals, and embryo transfers, and also supporting your mind through the emotionally intense cycles of hope and despair, chronic stress, and waiting that comes with this process.
For patients going through this process, we focus our acupuncture treatments heavily on:
- Blood flow to the uterus
- Gentle detox support for milder side effects from your medications
- Stress and anxiety relief
- Whole-body balance so that your body remembers how to do what it was designed to do
- “Food cure” recommendations to support your nutritional intake
We are also happy to talk with your doctors so that they are aware of exactly what kind of treatments you’re receiving with us.
Are you committed to the “all-natural” route?
This is exactly the right place for you. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine excels at promoting traditional conception through a powerful combination of acupuncture, herbs, and easy lifestyle shifts.
Opting for the acupuncture-and-herbs-only route is definitely easier on your body than IVF, but it can sometimes take longer. Why?
Each body is different. That might be a little unsatisfying, but it’s true. Our approach to the complicated topic of infertility involves diving deep & broad into your medical history to figure out exactly what the root cause is of your experience with infertility. The more complex your case, the more time it will take to peel back the layers.
Either way, our first goal will be to regulate your cycles, if they’re not already, so that they’re on time, a normal flow, with minimal to no cramping or PMS. Your cycles tell us a lot about the overall health and balance of your body, so we’ll be focusing our efforts there to tell us when your body should be ready to not only conceive, but carry a child to term. And since your periods happen once a month, it can take several months for us to see the change we’re looking for.
The good news is that your body is wise and wants to be fully healthy and functioning well again, which means we’re working with the grain rather than against it. We’ll give you “food cure” recommendations to sustainably shift your lifestyle habits that promote overall health, we’ll regulate your nervous system so you’re sleeping better, digesting better, and managing stress better, and we’ll prescribe you powerful herbs and supplements to correct (not mask) your patterns for long-term health.
