Why our natural chronic pain treatment works so well

A single leaf

We keep it simple

Complicated doesn’t always mean more sophisticated, or better. Sometimes it's the simple approach that gets the biggest result. We work to identify the clearest treatments for your specific pain and go from there. These treatments may include acupuncture, herbal supplements, and simple, doable lifestyle tweaks to get the strongest impact in your pain relief.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

We use a proven system that has been treating chronic pain successfully and naturally for centuries

You may have been told that there’s nothing to be done for your chronic pain except to manage it. We are so tired of hearing that, and we bet you are, too. We believe in your body’s ability to be without pain again because we consider your body as a whole, miraculous unit. We remind your body how to function better using acupuncture, herbal supplements, and simple lifestyle recommendations. In short, we show your body a way out of pain; not just managing it.

Grass roots

We get to the root of what’s causing your chronic pain

We work on breaking the pain cycle your body has established and address the cause of it. Why do your muscles keep spasming? We go there. Why is your cartilage wearing away? We can address that. What is causing the nerve pain? Let’s get to the bottom of the pain so that it doesn’t keep coming back.

Person explaining her pain

We focus on how you feel; not just the x-rays, MRIs, and scans

Did you know that some folks have bone-on-bone joints, but no pain? Medical imaging can be a fantastic tool, but it is not the final word. The final word - we believe - is how you feel. Can you take a walk? Can you go about your daily business? Are you having more good days? That’s our marker for getting you well again.

Our approach always is wholistic and doable

We meet each patient where they are at in their health journey and give appropriate recommendations based upon that. Sometimes it’s a simple stretch. Sometimes it’s a small lifestyle tweak. Sometimes it’s a supplement recommendation or an herbal formula. (And don’t worry: we never over-prescribe and we won’t send you home with 10 new expensive supplements to try.) Our goal is for you to feel good in your body and your life, and we provide sustainable tools for you to get there faster.

How we make positive changes

gentle acupuncture

Gentle Acupuncture

Our specialty is gentle acupuncture. Acupuncture has been healing bodies for centuries by awakening and stimulating your own body’s innate healing process. It restores cells and tissues, cleans up what doesn’t belong there, and gets blood flow moving to reduce pain.

herbal formula

Herbal Supplements

Herbal supplements strengthen the body while improving circulation and overall regulation; some formulas can even help heal injuries and scar tissue (even very old scar tissue!). Traditional Chinese Herbal medicine is a powerful tool that we like to use often to help reduce the number of visits our patients need.

These formulas are different from anything you’ll get from a functional medicine doctor, naturopath, or other holistic health professional. These formulas use herbs available only to licensed practitioners of Chinese Medicine and are so elegant you’ll never need to be on more than one or two at a time and you’ll never need to be on them for life.

Functional Nutritional Therapy

When your bones, muscles and cells are fully nourished with the specific nutrients they need, these tissues naturally function at a very high level. When tissues are functioning at a high level, there’s far less opportunity for pain to set in. We will guide you through simple changes to your diet that are sustainable for your lifestyle.

Relaxation and Stress Reduction

Studies have shown that you cannot heal (or learn) if you don’t feel safe. Stress is a state of not feeling safe, and can be helpful for signaling us to get out of certain situations. When that stress becomes chronic, though, our body gets put in a state of chronically being unable to fully heal. Acupuncture is a known regulator of the Central Nervous System, meaning it restores your feeling of safety and well-being, thus restoring your ability to heal. This means less inflammation, better circulation, more range of motion, a calmer mind, more energy, and better overall mood.
